Gender Diversity Training

Gender diversity training is essential for dental professionals who want to create more welcoming, equitable, and dignified environments for both patients and employees. As the parent of a transgender child, I am proud to offer virtual training for individuals and teams who want to learn how to incorporate gender affirming and inclusive practices in their workplace.

Introduction to Gender Diversity for Dental Offices

This workshop introduces participants to the topic of gender diversity. Participants will explore the concepts of gender identity and expression, assigned sex, trans identities, pronouns, and more in an accessible fashion that encourages discussion and reflection.

Participants will learn tools and techniques to create more inclusive dental offices and engage in respectful interactions with LGBTQ2S+ patients.

Participants will leave with:

  • An understanding of the differences between gender identity, expression, and assigned sex

  • A recognition of the societal constructions of gender and an understanding of alternative ways of conceptualizing gender

  • Heightened comfort in navigating pronoun use

  • Accessible ways to embrace gender diversity and affirm gender diverse patients and team members
